Lilac Sky

Lilac Sky is an original abstract painting using orange, brown, and purple acrylics on a textured canvas.

Samuel wanted to experiment with a warmer palette, incorporating browns and oranges which is a colour combination he has not often used in his previous works.

The composition of organic shapes and the positioning of the orange and brown areas reminded Samuel of a craggy landscape, and with the lighter lilac and white reminiscent of clouds over a sky, which led him to the name.

Samuel used textured paste on a stretched cotton canvas which he brushed over with the paints.

The canvas is fixed within a black stained oak frame measuring 79.5cm x 104.5cm x 3.5cm.
