The Future is Uncertain

Created in 2016, this aptly named abstract painting captured the uncertainty of the future through chaotic, interspersed flicks and dribbles of paint, echoing Pollock's methods on a minimal level.

Little did I know just how uncertain the world would be by 2020!

Using my usual colour palette of greens and blues, with a thick texture and a moody grey-and-white background, I aimed to create a pleasing, detailed, original abstract painting where the viewer finds something new at every glance.

This painting was on exhibition at the Pancakes and Booze art show in February 2017 and at the Industville lighting showroom during January and February 2018.

The Future is Uncertain measures 80cm x 60cm and uses oil paint, acrylic paint and pouring paints on a stretched cotton canvas.

The canvas is fixed within a black-stained tray frame with external dimensions of 83.5cm x 63.5cm. The frame creates a beautiful contrast against the painting’s lighter composition.
