Velvet Undergrowth
Velvet Undergrowth are a pair of nature inspired original abstract paintings.
The pair were painted for an exhibition space in Soho Square which incorporated elements of the rooms colours.
I love using blue and greens in my abstract paintings. I am drawn to nature and I am inspired by water and trees.
The overall dark tone of these paintings with the soft brushstrokes and merging of one colour into the other led me to name the canvases Velvet Undergrowth.
The cracked clay exposes the hidden layers of colour underneath, concealed in the undergrowth like the name suggests.
