Celestial Gardens is an immersive abstract painting bursting with movement, texture, and luminous colour. Created on a deep stretched cotton canvas using textured paste, cracking paste, acrylic paint, and spray paint, the work captures the feeling of discovering a dreamlike landscape suspended somewhere between earth and cosmos.

I Belong With The Trees is a richly textured abstract painting that captures the calm, grounding beauty of nature through layers of deep green, earthy tones and luminous metallic gold.
Created on a deep stretched cotton canvas using textured paste, acrylic paint and spray paint, Samuel has built his signature tactile surface with expressive brushed, sponged and flicked techniques. Deeply inspired by the natural world, Samuel created this piece in April 2026 as spring arrived in London and the countryside burst into colour. The painting reflects a longing for stillness, freedom and reconnection with nature — a desire to escape the noise of modern life and disappear into the forest. From this feeling, the title I Belong With The Trees was born.

Too Much Ash 1 is the first painting in a pair that was created for an exhibition space in Harrods.
Samuel has used black and white acrylic paints and spray paints on a canvas which has been covered with cracking paste, sand paste and plaster.
Samuel has dripped, sponged and flicked layers of paint to create an energetic and bold composition.
Too Much Ash 1 is 90cm x 90cm and is fixed within a black stained oak frame measuring 93.5cm x 93.5cm x 3.5cm. It also comes with a donation to the WWF to help fight climate change.

Dynamic Horizon is a striking contemporary abstract painting created with black and white acrylic paint and cracking paste on canvas. Through an energetic layering of textures and finely dispersed paint splatters, Samuel explores movement, atmosphere, and the tension between order and chaos.
Unlike many of Samuel’s heavily textured works, Dynamic Horizon features a singular band of cracking paste that moves horizontally across the upper half of the composition. Partially concealed beneath countless flicks and sprays of paint, this subtle ridge creates the impression of a shifting landscape or distant horizon emerging through static and shadow. The monochromatic palette enhances the work’s depth and intensity, inviting the viewer to experience both stillness and motion within the same surface.
This painting marks a further development in Samuel’s ongoing experimentation with minimal textural applications. Having previously introduced this effect in smaller elements across earlier works, Samuel expands the technique here into a complete composition, allowing the interplay of texture and layered paint to become the central focus.

He Loves Me and He Loves Me Not are a paired collection of textured abstract paintings created with white, grey, and blush pink acrylic paints layered over a heavily plastered canvas surface. Designed as companion works, the paintings explore balance, contrast, and emotional duality through subtle colour and richly tactile textures.
Created specifically for the Camerich Swiss Cottage showroom, the pair were intended to sit above two blush pink Noble lounge chairs, introducing warmth and softness into Samuel’s predominantly monochromatic collection for the space. While Samuel’s previous showroom works focused on restrained neutral palettes, these paintings mark his first introduction of colour within the series, with delicate blush pink tones woven through the textured surfaces to create a refined yet expressive focal point.
Across both works, thick layers of plaster and paint create an almost sculptural quality, with fractured horizontal bands of pink emerging through cool whites and greys like exposed layers beneath weathered stone. Flecks and splatters of colour soften the composition, bringing movement and spontaneity to the otherwise minimal palette. The dialogue between the two paintings reflects the sentiment behind their titles — complementary opposites that feel interconnected yet distinct.
Together, He Loves Me and He Loves Me Not embody Samuel’s ongoing exploration of texture, materiality, and atmosphere, while introducing a more romantic and playful tonal direction within his abstract practice.

Fragmented Dimension is a bold monochrome abstract painting created with black, white, and grey acrylic paints layered over Samuel’s signature cracking paste surface. Rich in texture and movement, the composition is built from intersecting geometric and organic forms that weave across the canvas, creating a sense of depth, rhythm, and visual tension.
Samuel began the work by intuitively free drawing across the heavily textured ground, allowing spontaneous shapes and flowing contours to emerge naturally. Each fragmented section was then carefully filled with varying tonal shades, resulting in a dynamic interplay between transparency, contrast, and layered form. The cracked surface beneath subtly disrupts the painted geometry, adding tactile complexity and reinforcing the painting’s raw, expressive energy.
Echoing elements of Cubism while avoiding any fixed subject or singular point of reference, Fragmented Dimension invites open interpretation. The ambiguous title reflects Samuel’s intention to create a work that exists between structure and abstraction — a composition that feels both architectural and fluid, familiar yet unresolved.

Samuel has covered this handstretched canvas in his signature materials before applying the black paint. By using only one colour he has highlighted the beauty of the texture whilst creating a minimalist effect. Samuel also finished the painting with a gloss varnish to add an additional element, letting light bounce off the rough surface of the canvas.

On Display at Supawan
Rare Earth Rising is a large-scale abstract landscape painting created using plaster, cracking paste, sand paste, acrylic paint, and gold leaf on canvas, finished with a semi-gloss varnish. Rich in texture and saturated colour, the work combines sculptural surfaces with luminous metallic detail to create an imagined terrain that feels both atmospheric and otherworldly.
Created specifically for Supawan, the vibrant Thai restaurant in London that exhibits Samuel’s work, the painting was designed to reflect the energy, warmth, and bold visual identity of the space. Samuel incorporated the restaurant’s signature colour palette into the composition, layering vivid turquoise, fluorescent coral, and deep violet tones into sweeping horizontal bands that resemble abstract mountain ranges or shifting geological formations. Gold leaf detailing traces the peaks between each layer, catching the light and adding a sense of movement and elevation across the surface.
The heavily textured turquoise sky contrasts against the glowing lower sections of the painting, creating depth while amplifying the intensity of the saturated colours beneath. Samuel intentionally embraced fluorescent and highly pigmented paints to mirror the bustling atmosphere of the restaurant itself — lively, immersive, and full of energy. The thick applications of plaster and sand paste give the work a tactile, almost volcanic quality, reinforcing the feeling of a landscape emerging from beneath the surface.
The title Rare Earth Rising was given by Supawan owner Wichet, perfectly capturing the painting’s sense of transformation, richness, and elemental power.

Serenity is a joyful, energetic painting created with crackle paste and acrylic paint on canvas.
Samuel created this artwork for Supawan, a Thai restaurant in Kings Cross, London, that has exhibited his work for many years.
He took the brand’s colours and transformed them into this vibrant abstract painting.
Samuel brushed, sponged, and flicked acrylic paint over the cracked paste surface, creating many layers of texture.
Serenity was named by his friend Roxy, after asking for viewers’ input in the naming process. This was a theme carried through in lots of answers. While Samuel saw energy and chaos, others interpreted the painting as calming, which is the beauty of Samuel's work.

Crystal Clear is a textured abstract painting created for Samuel’s exhibition at the Brick Lane Gallery in March 2023.
Created using plaster, acrylic paint, and spray paint on canvas, the artwork explores depth, movement, and reflection through a striking palette of layered blues. Samuel’s heavily textured surface gives the composition a sculptural quality, with sweeping forms and raised details creating an ever-changing interaction with light and shadow.
Silver spray paint and delicate droplets of pouring medium introduce reflective elements throughout the piece, enhancing its luminous and atmospheric character. Greens
Green Witch is a richly textured abstract painting created using layered paste and Farrow & Ball paints on canvas. Through an intuitive process of dripping, pouring, and flicking paint across the heavily worked surface, Samuel has built an atmospheric composition that feels both organic and elemental. The painting’s shifting tones and tactile textures evoke weathered stone, moss-covered landscapes, and natural erosion, drawing the viewer into its intricate surface.
Working with six carefully selected shades of green and cream, Samuel combines depth and movement with a restrained, earthy palette. Colours including Studio Green, Green Smoke, Lichen, Drop Cloth, Stirabout, and School House White blend and dissolve into one another, creating subtle variations in tone that emerge differently as the light changes across the textured canvas. Although these same Farrow & Ball colours were previously used in Samuel’s work Mitochondria, Green Witch explores a far moodier and more meditative outcome.
The layered application of paint and texture gives the work a sense of history and transformation, as though the surface has naturally evolved over time. Balancing raw energy with quiet sophistication, Green Witch reflects Samuel’s continuing exploration of materiality, movement, and abstraction.

Samuel painted a green and purple background in acrylics and spray paint, laid down cracking paste, and then sponged, flicked and brushed acrylic paints over the top.
He used a contrast of dry strokes alongside pouring wet paints and flicks to create a dynamic and energetic composition.

‘Watch Your Step, Brenda’ is made using textured paste and acrylic paints on canvas, finished with gloss varnish. The canvas is fixed within a black stained oak frame.
Using green and blue paints, Samuel has created a composition resembling a wet mossy step, which led Samuel to this humorous title.

Mitochondria is a green and cream textured abstract painting using mixed media with Farrow and Ball paints on Canvas.
Samuel created this painting inspired by the beautiful forms found in nature, like an imagined view through a microscope at cells and bacteria. It was named by his friend Becky.
Samuel started with the colour palette, choosing to use only Farrow and Ball paints for this composition, in particular; Studio Green, Green Smoke, Lichen, Drop Cloth, StirAbout and School House White. He then created a digital painting as a template for the shapes he would then transfer onto a textured canvas.
Once he laid the base forms, he added organic shapes, dotwork and linework to create this pleasing and detailed artwork.
For Mitochondria, Samuel achieved a textured background using only a coarse and fine textured paste. This was spread and layered over a Winsor and Newton 76cm x 101.5cm cotton canvas which was then fixed within a white stained oak frame measuring 79cm x 104.5cm.

Ground Frost is a textured abstract painting created with layered green and cream acrylic paints over a plaster surface on canvas. Rich with movement and organic detail, the composition captures the quiet atmosphere of a winter landscape, where muted tones and fragmented textures evoke frost settling across the earth.
In this work, Samuel continues his exploration of combining neutral palettes with subtle colour, allowing earthy greens to emerge softly beneath icy whites and cool greys. The layered plaster surface creates a tactile, weathered quality, while expressive applications of paint build depth and variation across the canvas. Flecks of green appear to break through the pale surface, suggesting the gradual thaw of frozen ground beneath winter light.
The title Ground Frost was inspired through conversation with Samuel’s audience on Instagram, with the final name suggested by his friend Mike. The painting’s restrained palette and atmospheric textures perfectly reflect the feeling of frost-covered terrain beginning to soften and reveal the life beneath.

Sunshine and Dopamine is a vibrant abstract painting inspired by Samuel’s visit to Prague in November 2021. Created during a period of restoration and reflection, the work captures both the uplifting energy of the city and Samuel’s renewed state of mind after taking time to recharge creatively and emotionally.
Using acrylic paint and gel medium layered across a deep stretched cotton canvas, Samuel built an expressive composition filled with movement, texture, and spontaneity. Rich pinks, vivid greens, and soft whites collide and blend across the surface, creating an energetic rhythm that evokes blooming petals, foliage, and fragments of nature viewed through an abstract lens. Pinks
I’m Ok, I’m Just Tired is a deeply personal abstract painting created using cracking clay, gels, and pumice paste layered with acrylic paint on stretched cotton canvas. Measuring 90 cm × 90 cm, the work combines tactile texture with soft pastel tones, transforming exhaustion and emotional heaviness into a composition filled with movement, balance, and quiet optimism.
Created shortly after completing his paintings Hay Fever and Joie De Vivre for his exhibition at Supawan restaurant, Samuel approached this work from a very different emotional place. Rather than using his usual saturated palette and energetic paint application, he chose muted pinks, blues, greys, and whites that reflected his physical and mental state at the time. The softer colours create a calmer, more introspective atmosphere while still retaining the layered complexity characteristic of his practice.
Departing from his typical process of flicking and brushing paint across textured surfaces, Samuel instead built the composition through overlapping solid forms and rounded blocks of colour. These organic shapes drift and intersect across the canvas, creating a rhythm that feels both playful and meditative. Beneath the smooth painted forms, cracking textures and pumice surfaces subtly emerge, adding depth and fragility to the work.
Despite being born from a week of exhaustion and back pain, I’m Ok, I’m Just Tired became a transformative piece for Samuel — one that channels vulnerability into something expressive, textured, and unexpectedly joyful. The contrast between the painting’s emotional origin and its uplifting visual presence gives the work a strong sense of honesty and humanity.

Lilac Sky is an original abstract painting using orange, brown, and purple acrylics on a textured canvas.
Samuel wanted to experiment with a warmer palette, incorporating browns and oranges which is a colour combination he has not often used in his previous works.
The composition of organic shapes and the positioning of the orange and brown areas reminded Samuel of a craggy landscape, and with the lighter lilac and white reminiscent of clouds over a sky, which led him to the name.

‘Love’ is a colourful textured abstract portrait inspired by Lan Del Rey’s song with the same name.
Samuel has used cracking paste, sand paste and plaster with acrylic paints on a stretched cotton canvas.
After applying the materials, Samuel painted the portrait from Lana’s album ‘Lust for Life’ over the textured surface. He painted additional daisy flowers on the composition, and finished with flicks and sprays of acrylic paint in matching pink, yellow and white tones.
Samuel chose pink and yellow for its vibrancy and its links to Spring when it was painted.
Love is painted on a canvas measuring 50cm x 75.5cm and is fixed with in a frame measuring 54cm x 79cm. The white oak frame was given the same treatment as the canvas, covered in flicks of yellow and pink acrylic paint, extending the energy and style of the painting.

Black, White, Gold & Neutral
Molten is a 40cm x 30cm abstract painting using acrylic paints and spray paint over a surface with cracking paste, pumice paste and gels on canvas.
Samuel has been drawn to reflective elements in his artwork and wanted to create a painting with this effect using a minimal colour palette.
He used gold spray paint to cover the entire surface, between the cracked clay and over all the stone paste. He then brushed on black and white acrylic paint to add contrast and depth to the canvas. This opulent composition is full of texture and beauty, and you will notice in the pictures how reflective the artwork is, changing with different levels of light.
This painting was on display at the Brick Lane Gallery at a group abstract exhibition between 29th March - 9th April.
