A View Outward (AVO)

A View Outward (AVO)

A View Outward or AVO for short is an original pink and green abstract painting using cracked clay and acrylic paints on a stretched cotton canvas.

The canvas measures 40cm x 30cm and is set inside a white painted tray frame measuring 44.5cm x 34.5cm. There is a 1cm space between the canvas and frame to display the canvas’ painted edge.

AVO is a colourful, fun composition using a bold colour combination. The painting began as an experimentation of colour and also of space, opting for a two colour painting rather than the rainbow Samuel usually adopts. On reflection of the painting once completed, Samuel drew comparisons of the forms and colour combinations to topography, as though the painting could have been inspired by the pink Lake Hillier (if it had herbaceous islands in its waters). This lead Samuel to name the piece A View Outwards, or AVO for short (as the green forms do have a resemblance to the popular super food!).

This small composition is an eye catching work of art that would be a welcome addition to any wall. The white painted tray frame wraps the canvas beautifully and creates a transition between painting and the wall.

A View Outward is available to buy from the shop.
