Fire Burn and Cauldron Bubble

Fire Burn and Cauldron Bubble

'Fire Burn and Cauldron Bubble' is an abstract painting using honeycomb and hammered effect pouring paints on a 40cm x 40cm deep edge canvas.

Samuel usually combines pouring paints with his signature combination of clay and plaster, however in this painting he wanted to use the pouring medium solely to create an abstract composition.

Samuel named the artwork 'Fire Burn and Cauldron Bubble' after the line from the song of witches in Shakespeare's Macbeth. The colours in the painting reminded Samuel of magic and the fluidity and ripples within the paint reflect the energy and movement of a bubbling cauldron.

Fire Burn and Cauldron Bubble is a 40cm x 40cm canvas that sits within a white painted frame measuring 44.5cm x 44.5cm x 5.5cm. There is a gap between the canvas and frame to show the canvas' painted edges.
